Portable power station prices: most are dearer than usual right now

We tracked 180 days of Amazon prices across ten portable power products. Only three of the nine we could measure are below their own average, and two popular models are more than 10% above it. If you can wait, wait.

What the data says

This is not a good week to buy Six of the nine products we measured are trading above their own six-month average. That is the opposite of what we found in camera drones, where most models are currently cheap.

The Bluetti Elite 30 V2 is the most inflated $279.99 against a $230.80 six-month average, or 21% above where it usually sits. The Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 is 10% up on the same basis.

If you must buy today The ZeroKor 300W and the Jackery Explorer 300 are both below average, by 10% and 7%. Among the small units, the Ohoviv power bank is 22% down.

How we did it

We pulled 180 days of Amazon.com price history for the ten products in our portable power ranking and compared each one against its own average over that window. A model is only ever compared with itself, because $20 off a $28 power bank and $20 off a $500 station are not the same event.

One product, the Oupes 2000W, returned a current price outside the highest and lowest figures recorded in the same period. That usually means the readings came from different sellers, so we left it out rather than publish a number we can't defend. The nine below are what remain.

Why this matters more here than in other categories

Power stations are one of the most heavily discounted categories on Amazon. Prices swing hard around Prime Day, Black Friday and the start of hurricane and camping seasons, and the same unit can move by a third of its price within a few weeks.

That cuts both ways. It means a patient buyer saves real money, and it means buying at the wrong moment costs more here than in almost any other category we track.

The two to watch

The Bluetti Elite 30 V2 at 21% above its average and the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 at 10% above are both good products at prices that don't reflect where they usually sit. Neither is a bad machine. They're just expensive today.

Set a price alert and check back. On the six-month evidence, both have spent most of the period cheaper than they are now.

  • Bluetti Elite 30 V2: $279.99 now, $230.80 average
  • Jackery Explorer 1000 v2: $499.00 now, $453.77 average
  • Anker SOLIX C1000: sitting almost exactly on its average

Solar panels barely move

The three solar panels in the set behaved very differently from the batteries. The HQST and ZOUPW units are within about 1% of their averages, and the Renogy is 7.6% up.

If you're building a kit, that's useful sequencing information. The panel will cost roughly the same whenever you buy it, so time the purchase around the power station and add the panel when convenient.

What we'd do

Wait, unless you have a trip or a storm coming. Six of nine above average is a clear signal, and this category discounts often enough that patience is usually rewarded.

If you can't wait, the Jackery Explorer 300 and the ZeroKor 300W are the two mid-size units currently priced below where they normally sit.
