We pulled six months of price history for ten camera drones on Amazon.com and compared today's price to each model's own average. Six of eight are currently cheaper than usual, and one is 26% down.

What the data says
Right now is a reasonable time to buy Six of the eight drones we could measure cleanly are trading below their own 180-day average. That is not always the case.
The DJI Mini 3 is the outlier At $319 against a $431 six-month average, it is 26% down. That is what an older model looks like when a newer one has arrived.
Potensic barely moves Both Potensic models sit within 4% of their average. If you do not want to watch prices for weeks, that predictability has a value of its own.

How we did it
We took the ten drones in our camera drone ranking and pulled their price history on Amazon.com over the last 180 days, then compared the current price with that model's own average across the period. Comparing a drone to itself is the only comparison that means anything: a $150 drone being $20 cheaper matters more than a $1,000 drone being $20 cheaper.
Two of the ten, the DJI Air 3S and the DJI Mini 4 Pro, returned readings we could not reconcile: their current price fell outside the highest and lowest values recorded in the same window, which usually means the current figure and the historical range came from different sellers. We left them out rather than publish numbers we cannot stand behind. Everything below is the remaining eight.
Older models are where the discounts live
The steepest drop in the table belongs to the DJI Mini 3, a model that has since been superseded twice. Six months ago it averaged $431. Today it sits at $319.
This is the pattern worth internalizing if you buy drones on a budget: the biggest savings are almost never on the newest release. They arrive when the replacement lands and the shop still has stock of the old one. If you can live without the latest sensor, the model from one or two generations back is where the money is.
How much prices actually swing
The gap between the cheapest and dearest day matters more than most buyers assume. On the DJI Neo, the range across six months ran from $149 to $249. On the Holy Stone HS360S, from $139.98 to $249.99.
In both cases the spread is over half the average price. Buying on the wrong day can cost you more than choosing the wrong model.

The stable ones are worth something too
Not every brand behaves the same way. Both Potensic models stayed within roughly 4% of their average and moved in a much tighter band than the DJI line.
That has a practical consequence. With a DJI you are usually better off waiting for a dip, because the dips are large. With the Potensic models there is not much of a dip to wait for, so buying when you need it costs you very little.
What we'd do with this
If you want the most drone for the money today, the Mini 3 at 26% below its own average is hard to argue with, provided you accept it is a two-generation-old design.
If you want the newest thing, note that the DJI Mini 5 Pro is currently sitting at the lowest price we recorded in the whole six-month window. That does not happen often on a current flagship.
And if none of this appeals, the honest answer is that prices move enough on most of these models that waiting two or three weeks with a price alert is worth more than any coupon you will find today.
