Why we recommend it
Battery doorbells are easier to fit and worse at everything else. This Reolink is Power over Ethernet: one cable carries both power and data, so there is no battery to recharge, no Wi-Fi dropout at the front door, and no gap where the camera was asleep when someone walked past. Footage goes to a microSD card, an NVR or a network share, all of which are yours. It ships with a chime, which sounds obvious until you buy a doorbell that does not have one. The obvious cost is the cable: this is a job for someone comfortable running Ethernet, or for a small bill from someone who is.
Buying advice
Work out the cable route before you buy anything else. If there is a plausible path from a router or switch to the front door, this is the doorbell to get and it will outlast three battery ones. If there is not, a battery model is the honest answer even though it is the weaker product.
